How RISE Builds High-Performing Event Teams
Building a great event team isn't just about finding people who show up. It's about cultivating a culture where people want to show up - and give their best when they do.
At RISE Event Labor, we've spent years refining how we recruit, onboard, and develop crew members. Here's what we've learned.
Start with values, not just skills.
We look for people who are personable, participatory, punctual, and patient. Skills can be taught. Attitude is harder to change. Our best long-term crew members were hired because of who they are, not just what they knew on day one.
Invest in onboarding.
A confusing first week costs you the first month. We make sure every new crew member knows exactly how our LASSO platform works, what to expect on their first event, and who to contact when questions come up. Clarity builds confidence, and confident crew perform better.
Create feedback loops.
After every major event, we debrief. What went well? What slowed us down? We pass relevant feedback to crew members and incorporate it into our next deployment. Teams that improve together stay together.
Recognize consistency.
We track who shows up on time, who steps up when it's hard, and who makes the work better for everyone around them. Those crew members get first access to premium events, recurring gigs, and leadership opportunities. Reliability is rewarded.
Build real relationships.
We know our people - not just their work histories. We celebrate their wins, support them through challenges, and make sure they feel like part of the RISE family, not just a line item on a staffing report.
The result is a crew pool that clients trust, that events run on, and that keeps growing because word spreads: RISE is a great place to work.
